Impact Stories

Madhu

Madhu, a 25-year-old primary school teacher, had never experienced an open conversation about menstruation-until now. "For the first time, someone not only made me aware of menstruation but also spoke openly about managing health during this time. The counseling session was incredibly informative," she shares. Madhu received reusable pads during the session and quickly saw their benefits. "I liked them a lot-they can be washed and reused, which is so important," she says. Until now, no one had come to her village to openly discuss menstrual health. But through this session, she gained valuable knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions.

Building Confidence

Rashmi, a first-semester B.A. student, joined the Jagan Foundation’s skill development programme after hearing about it from her college. “I came to know that it helps improve our skills, so I decided to participate,” she recalls. Through the programme’s 14 structured modules, Rashmi discovered practical tools for self-improvement. “I learned how to sit, how to stand, how to talk to others, and how to work in a team,” she says. The biggest change? Confidence. “My way of thinking has changed completely. I now feel inspired to share what I’ve learned with others,” she adds. The sessions didn’t just provide knowledge—they offered guidance and the motivation to pursue her dreams. “Thanks to the Jagan Foundation, I have the courage to turn my goals into reality.”

Mandana

Mandana Kumari Sharma had never received detailed information about menstruation—until she attended the Jagan Foundation’s awareness session. “I learned so much,” she says. “I understood the menstrual process, about bleeding, the eggs, and the uterus. I also learned about the Yoni and how to maintain hygiene during periods.” Mandana was especially grateful for the menstrual kit she received, which included a reusable pad. “If you keep it clean, it lasts for a year,” she shares. She explains how she soaks it for 20 minutes, washes it thoroughly, and dries it in the sun to ensure cleanliness. “The session was very useful,” she says with quiet confidence. “Thank you very much.”
